Tom Tolond

 receives a Bene Merenti

Tom's commitment to the Parish of Ss Peter & Paul was recognised on Saturday 27 June with the award of the Papal Medal Bene Merenti.

The recent Festival provided the opportunity to celebrate with Tom, Norah and Family the years of service he has given to the community in New Brighton.

Fr John, in presenting the Papal Medal, highlighted Tom's commitment to the ordinary parishioner over so many years, his loyalty to his Bishop and his longevity that made him stand out.

Tom served the first Mass in the Ss Peter & Paul Church in New Brighton and was invited to serve the final Mass when the church closed in August 2008.
